S.H.E.A.F.

(Student Higher Education Fund) 

What is the purpose of S.H.E.A.F.?

The purpose of S.H.E.A.F. is to assist deserving students in securing a college, university, commercial or professional education in an accredited school of learning, preferably in the State of Florida.

Who is eligible to apply for S.H.E.A.F. Grants?

The applicant must be either a member in good standing in a subordinate Florida Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star or the son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a Florida member in good standing in a subordinate Florida Chapter chapter at the time of their death.

The applicant must ...

    (1) be sponsored by a Florida Chapter. (The sponsoring chapter must present a letter of recommendation under Seal and signed by the Worthy Matron and Secretary.);
    (2) have been a resident of the State of Florida for at least five years; and
    (3) be a full time student and have at least a 3.0 grade average.

Who gets preference for S.H.E.A.F. Grants?

Preference will be given undergraduates who have completed two years of college and consideration will be given to each area of the State when making the awards.

Who provides funds for S.H.E.A.F. Grants?

Funds for S.H.E.A.F. Grants are provided by donations, memorials, love gifts and various fund raising events by O.E.S. Chapters, District Chairmen or individuals.

What about re-payment?

The students do not have to repay these Grants.
